Strange Brigade Review PS4

So over the Christmas break, I had a chance to buy a lot of games one being the ever so great but overlooked Strange Brigade on PS4, the Strange Bridge review is below

Story

Egypt, the 1930’s. Erased from ancient history and buried in a nameless tomb for 4,000 years, Seteki the Witch Queen has risen once again.

Only one troop of daring heroes can stand against the fearsome power of Seteki and her army of mummified monstrosities: The Strange Brigade!

Explore remarkable ruins, solve perilous puzzles and uncover tantalising treasure while blasting your way through an array of undead enemies in thrilling third-person action that’s certain to bring out your inner adventurer!

Features

  • ONE GRIPPING ADVENTURE!
  • FOUR FEARLESS FORTUNE HUNTERS
  • A LEGION OF MALEVOLENT MONSTERS
  • TONS OF TERRIFYING TRAPS
  • OODLES OF PUZZLING PREDICAMENTS

Gameplay

The game itself can be played as a solo adventure with more than enough fun and story to keep you involved and wanting to push on, the old just do the next bit keeps coming into play with your mind forgetting that its time to stop and suddenly it is 6 hours later and you are left wondering where time has gone.

The style of play is 3rd person with a mix of Tomb raider and COD zombies mixed into one, which is even better if you have friends (4 player co-op) i have none so i solo played the whole game.

I was impressed, the gunplay is fun and trying to get headshots while 50 mummies I trying to kill you gets the old heart racing, using the environment to your advantage with special traps to either cut down or burn the foe is amazing.

Choice of weapons is not key here, however stick to the rifles as the damage is better and allows you to conserve ammo better, going at a mummy with a pistol is never going to work.

Strange Brigade 1

Bosses on the levels a varied and hard, the amount of time it took to work out how to kill them and how to avoid the damage they can inflict was sometimes annoying and rage-inducing but this is the charm of the game.

The length of game is about 10 hours which is about average or above in this day and age. but couple on top the DLC maps that are available then this extends the game to about 16 hours.
